Protection of building structures against moisture penetration from the inside. BAUTEQ Moisture Barrier is designed for use in damp and wet rooms to protect walls and ceilings against moisture before the installation of ceramic tiles or other finishing materials. It is the first professional moisture barrier with a fixed water vapor permeability. Suitable substrates include plasterboard, concrete, plaster, or brickwork. It is also suitable for overpainting. The moisture barrier is not intended for blocking ground moisture, for underwater surfaces in wet rooms, or as an additive to cement mixtures. Application conditions Ambient air and substrate temperature must be at least 10 °C, with relative humidity up to 80%. Apply with a paint roller, sprayer, or brush. Instructions for use The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of dust. The product is applied in two coats First coat: dilute the moisture barrier with water in a 1:1 ratio. After approx. 30 minutes, or once the surface is dry, apply the second coat undiluted. Ceramic tiles can be installed about 4 hours later, once the BAUTEQ Moisture Barrier layer has dried. Consumption: For non-absorbent surfaces (two coats): 0.15 l/m² For absorbent surfaces (two coats): 0.3 l/m² Cleaning Wash tools and clothing immediately with water. Dried material can be removed mechanically. Storage Guaranteed shelf life: 24 months from the date of manufacture, stored in a dry place in tightly closed original packaging at 5 °C to 30 °C. The product is frost-sensitive!
