Antique 1930s Oak Fireplace Surround This original antique timber Fireplace Surround is available either in its current form or together with our full restoration service. This surround would compliment well with the majority of our Fireplace Inserts. Measurements Height: 56″ inches Width: 62″ inches Opening: 41.5″ x 47″ inches Mantel: 68″ inches Timber Surrounds/Mantels Timber fireplace surrounds and mantels are usually created from natural oak and pine, or are covered with a wood veneer / paint effect. Our traditional wood fire surrounds feature natural variations in knot formation making each solid wood fireplace unique. Solid oak surrounds and solid pine fireplace surrounds are usually supplied with a waxed finish. The veneer and painted surrounds provide a uniform appearance for contemporary rooms, but are unsuitable for use with solid fuel fires.
